My Advive to You 6th graders

May27

Hi, sixth grader! I’m Ileen I was  in Mr. Miller’s class for sixth grade. When I came into sixth grade I was prepared for the challenges. In the beginning of the year I knew I was good at math, and now I’m good in math and history. The people that helped me the most to prepare for sixth grade were Zeni, Citlalli, and Gera. They told me what to expect, what supplies I needed, and gave me some information on CPMS. The thing that surprised me the most was how Mr. Miller teaches lessons using technology. It is very fun because you don’t just get on the computer and type, but you do research, you do info graphics, and way more stuff that I’m not going to tell you so I won’t spoil it.

Now I will be in seventh grade. I am prepared for seventh grade. I know what to expect, and what teachers expect from me. My strongest area will have to be math. My math teacher taught us a little bit of seventh grade math so I think math will be kind of easy. The areas I had to work the hardest would probably be history maybe even science. The part that I enjoyed most about Mr. Miler’s class was when we got to Skype with the classes that we collaborated with. My advice to you is ALWAYS do what you are told to do by a teacher, ask questions if you don’t understand something, don’t get Mr. Miller mad, never get in trouble by the principal, and ALWAYS follow the rules. That is my advice to you. Hope you have a great sixth grade year, and that you learn many things from Mr. Miller in technology because I know that I  learned many many things in technology. Bye, have a FANTASTIC sixth grade year!

Advice To New 6th Graders

May27

I was prepared for middle school and I knew that when I walked through the gates it would be different from 5th grade. My best skill was probably math. Amy and Andrea helped me. The thing that surprised me most about sixth grade was all the technology that we used.

  • Moodle
  • Back channeling
  • Skyping
  • Videos
  • Google Earth
  • Online tests
  • Wikis
  • Blogs

I was good in areas such as reading and math. I needed to work hard in history. I enjoyed blogging with other classes across the world. The advise I give to you is to try your best, but don’t think you’re the best.

Welcome To Sixth Grade!!! (:

May27

Welcome to a brand new school!

My first day of school I was a little scared. At first I thought that all I needed were a couple of pencils and paper but I was wrong. My best skills coming in would have to be math. My friend Ileen would always help me no matter what it was. Just a week before star testing we were told that there would be fun activities and they were a lot of fun!!

For the seventh grade I think that I will be prepared for anything that happens. I still like doing math and hope to continue that through the seventh grade. In history I had to work my hardest on. My favorite thing to do on the computer would have to be Moodle. My advice for you is to never give up. (:

Advice For Incoming 6th Graders

May27

I was well prepared when I came into Chalone peaks. I knew it would be different. I thought my best skill was Math. An 8th grader helped me out. Her name was Amy too. Some of my class friends that were helpful are Vanessa, Madison, Jennifer, Natalie, Andrea, and Chermelle. A surprising thing about sixth grade is some teachers will let you turn in work late and in math you have home work on the weekend sometimes.

I think I will be more prepared for 7th grade because I now know what to expect. I was the strongest in math throughout the year. I worked hard in math and it payed off. Some things using technology you use in Mr. Miller’s class are:

  • blogs
  • wiki
  • videos
  • slideshows
  • Google Docs
  • forms (surveys and in boxes and reading log)
  • Moodle
  • collaboration
  • back channeling
  • Skyping
  • Google Earth

Some advice I would give is don’t think you are all that because now you are the youngest student and don’t be nervous.

Hey New 6th Graders

May27

When i entered the 6th grade I was really prepared. The best skill I had coming in 6th grade was P.E and math.P.E had always been easy for me. Math was easy if you knew how to pay attention to the teacher. Lizzeth and Vanessa helped me a-lot through out the school year. Lizzeth would always raise her hand when she had a question but i would be shy. Lizzeth told me not asking is just like not learning. Vanessa had always been a girl who did her homework. I would always forget and not do my homework. Vanessa would help me remember my homework and may help help me if I needed it.

Am i prepared for 7th grade lets find out.My strongest areas are math and P.E so i’m tottaly ready for that. I need to work on science it’s to hard for me all the plates and tectonics just confuse me. I enjoyed using skype the most in the school year. Its really fun to do you get to talk to another person all around the world from a computer and you could be able to see each other. My advise to a 6th grader is that you do not talk during lunch and please do not upset the 7th and 8th graders they have a scense of humor. If you have just finished reading this I will also let you know that you are in the highest class there could ever be. =)

My 6th grade letter(:

May26

When I came in 6th grade I was prepared. I bought all my supplies that I needed. The people that helped me the most were my cousins Jovany, Alex , and Roxana. They told me what to expect and the supplies I needed to bring. The areas I did the best on were math, history, and P.E. What surprised me the most was blogging. I never knew that blogging existed.

I think I am very well prepared for 7th grade. I even got all the things my math teacher Mrs. Judd taught us about 7th grade. The area I need to work on the hardest is science because it is a bit confusing. I really liked using skype. Skype is a fun way to communicate and make friends all over the world. My advice would be to always try your best effort on everything and to never give up.

Jelly Beans

May23
Yummy and Sweet Jelly Beans

Yummy and Sweet Jelly Beans

Yummy and sweet,

Good enough to eat.

Oh, Mr.Jelly-bean

Why do you have to be so mean ?

My favorite is cotton candy

plus a yummy snack always comes in handy.

I think I’ll call you Helen

because you taste just like watermelon.

Mrs. Cherry,

Your husband is old and hairy.

You cherry ones might look bitter and gummy,

But really your only yummy.

Wow your cousin is so yellow

When he’s here he acts so mellow.

He is yellow all around,

I wonder why he was on the ground.

Hey,

Isn’t that neat?

Your whole family,

Seams to be so sweet!!

Summer Time

May10
Bright yelllow sun and clear blue sky on a warm sunny day

Bright yellow sun and clear blue sky on a warm sunny day

Summer is a great season!
Always bright
Never cloudy
You can do many things
during Summer.
Or you can just relax.
People start wearing bright colors.
Looks like the Jungle.
Everybody at the beach just
cooling off.
People swimming
Oh what a fun time !
Everyday the sun beats down.
always warm.
Don’t forget to put on sunscreen
or else you’ll get burnt!
During the day you can hear
bees buzzing.
You can smell BBQ.
And at night you can hear
grasshoppers and crickets creaking.
Oh what a great time of year!

SEASONS

May9

season tree

season tree

                                                                                        Winter

The season for Christmas
When snowy snow is falling down,
Both quick and slow going.
No need to mow.
Winter is as cold as a refrigerator.
Spring
When showers,
bring flowers.
Like drifting clouds,
Birds fly high,
in the the sunny blue sky.
Summer
The season that’s hot
When there is no rain
When people go to the pool,
to keep cool.
Fall
When bags have leaves,
 as light as peas.
When the days get old,
and the years get old.
Gold  and red trees,
and a soft breeze
